Department of Corrections

Most of today's news is fairly grim, but here's a reason to be cheerful:

Story here.

Of course, that was the easy bit.

A real challenge would be to convince the BBC's dimwitted web writers/editors to use the acronym "NASA", not "Nasa".

Note to Auntie: It's not as if there are no clues on the web. You could even crib it from the NASA logo:

But therein lies the oddness - they seem to do OK with initialisms such as BBC, IRA and LA, but they struggle with acronyms such as NASA, FIFA and IRIS. There are some cracking combination cock-ups to be had, such as http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/scie.....t-25322732 where you get not only Nasa and Iris but also inconsistent capitalisation of "Sun".

Of course, it's entirely possible that their language-manglers don't know that there are differences between initialisms and acronyms, but it's more likely that they just don't care.
