My good friend Nick, who I met on Ward 41 back in 2016, was given his "farewell dose" of morphine at his home this afternoon.
He'd won many battles against his illnesses for over a decade, before losing this last fight.
He was a big man with a big heart, always happy, and one of the kindest people I've ever met.
Our condolences go out to Graham, his husband, who was with him to the end and who let us know the sad news today.
