I think this depends on whatever browser/OS combi you're using. I'm looking at grey on white from here (Firefox 2.0.0.9 / XPPro SP2). Here's a screenshot:

I'm using IE7 and XP Home (SP2) - not uncommon. It may be clearer under vista as I haven't noticed this before - I have been kicked off the 'puter upstairs by her in doors.
The comment looks fine when submitted - its just when I type it (having to select text to proofread)
Hmmm, I see what you mean. Maybe there'll be more colour options in the next version of this theme? We'll have to wait and see.
