Nobody expects the Spanish Indecision!

I've been known to enjoy an occasional glass of cheap Chilean Merlot, but this 1.5 litre bottle of raffle-won posh Iberian pop is way out of my league.

I don't know whether to store it, donate it, drink it, cook with it or fight with it:

Haro Wine Festival sounds like my sort of day out.

@Chris Ricketts - If it wasn't so far to drive... 🙂

Pretty good for a raffle. Have a look at the hotel of the same name. http://www.hotel-marquesderiscal.com/en

I guess that they don't have "design must be in keeping with the area" building regs out there.

    Is that your holiday cottage?

    Update:

My suggestions of either saving it for our bonfire party or opening it atop my final Wainwright are, for some reason, unacceptable.

We are to invite friends and family to the house sometime early next year to share my Rioja. Not to share any of the other 12+ bottles of wine various which her employer has given to her during the previous few years, oh no. Just my Rioja.

This less-than-bilateral decision has been made due to the well-known rule which states "What's Mine is Ours, What's Hers is Hers". My veto has been rejected.

  6. Glen says:

@BG! - If it will save a marital row I will quite happily take that Rioja off your hands and give it a good home. As for previous years gifts from the employer, it is definitely not the sort of wine that benefits from being kept, if it's older than last year you should probably cook with it.

  7. BG! says:

@Glen - Thanks for your kind offer but it won't be necessary, there will be no marital row if I do what I'm told, and there's plenty of being told going on. Why, during the last hour I've been told that I can't visit the Mother-in-Law and I can't rearrange the bags of pressies in the lounge despite the trip-hazard. I await the next edict with bated breath.

'Tis the season to be jolly...

    ... allegedly.

    The domestic minefield...

Enter the kitchen and be told: "Don't come in here and start interfering - I know what I'm doing". Okay, that's me told.

Avoid the kitchen: "I suppose you intend to leave everything to me as usual?"

I wonder if Kofi Annan is busy...
