What do they expect though? Ever heard of the Broken Windows Theory? If they build a railway to the summit, then build a restaurant on the summit then why do they complain when someone drives to the summit? It seems they have one rule for themselves (the park officials, i.e. "we'll do what we want up there") and another for the rest of them. They really don't set a good example. If it's OK for this berk to break the rules, the principles of democracy would imply that it's OK for everybody to break the rules. Can I expect to get away with driving on the pavement through our local pedestrianised shopping area? I think not, and rightly so.
No, I can't see much division: twat seems to fit. I like the piece by piece idea. I did think: put him in the car, hook it up to the chinook and drop both...but where could you dispose of them both? Not the sea, which was the image in my head. An active volcano? But no - you've got it spot on.
Firstly, may I say that in these days when incidents of disability hate crime have reached record highs, it’s quite wrong to rush into judgement about a poor chap who does not possess the mental wherewithal to keep his car on the road and drives it instead to the top of a mountain. And when you take into account the fact that the largest concentrations of 4X4s in Britain are in Chelsea and Kensington, with the eastern Highlands lagging in third position, it does raise the possibility that people like him are in the majority, not the minority.
Secondly, BG, can I congratulate you on the use of the word t**t (working for a respected regional newspaper that upholds certain standards, I cannot bring myself to type the word in full). This is the first time I’ve seen it used on a mountain website – and you have employed it to great effect.
