Holiday at home – Thursday

Wicksteed Park.

Yup - it's the place of playground equipment fame. Chris likes this place, so we have to go there once a year or so. It's never too crowded, so there's never too long to wait to get on the rides. As expected, the kids liked the wet activities best. It was another scorcher of a day, we ended up staying late into the evening, playing in the big playground after the rides had closed. Not too many photos, though, as I was shamed into going on the rides myself (I hate going on the damned things - I'm a "feet firmly on the ground" sort of bloke).

Fond memories of Wicksteed Park... I originally come from ISHAM and my mum and dad still live there. When we visit my boys always insist we go there even now they are 19 and 15.

    Hi Sally

Hey, you never know, maybe we've met there but never realised!

Wicksteed Park is sort of a halfway-house (on the clock, not the map) between us and my brother-in-law's family (they live in Norwich), so it's a convenient place to meet up when neither of us want to drive all the way to the other.

my son has just spent the week-end with my brother who lives in Higham Ferris.... i picked him up today after a nice walk along the nene valley way, first thing he said was " i have been to wicksteed park " 🙂 he had a great day there with his cousin.
