:-(

I had expectations of getting up to The Lakes to play in the snow this coming weekend, but like many others I've been struck down with the lurgy. Standard remedies aren't touching it, so I may have to resort to hearty measures of hot Port and Southern Comfort in order to boost my vitamin C intake. That, combined with liberal helpings of Chris's mega-chunky leek & potato soup with added onions, should keep the internal fire stoked to combat the bugs.

As I've said before, the winter kit's been packed and ready for the off since early November. At this rate I'll have to unpack it again and replace all of the stuff that's gone out of fashion.

@Trevor Woodford - If it all goes wrong, at least I won't feel much

Commiserations. I hope you feel better soon. My lurgy bugs are waving to yours...

@Peewiglet - I reckon I caught it off you via the Web, PW 🙄

If you fancy nipping round here, we can be miserable together and finish off that medicinal Southern Comfort 😀

    Comiserations Stef.
I too have been afflicted by the worst bout of Manflu for many a year. A whole 3 days in bed!, and still no sign of abatement. I didnt know my bones and joints could ache so much.
A drop of port helps me....

This is day nine for me, Mike, and no chance of being bedridden, there being so many things to do. I've just reassembled the tumble-dryer after ridding it of the ear-splitting squealing noise that it's been making. The process involved removing a decade-worth of accumulated dust, most of which is now in my sinuses leading to impressive sneezing and juicy snotters.

Hope you feel better soon, in the meantime ensure that your drinking arm gets priority treatment and regular exercise 😉
