Looky here what the postie delivered yesterday:

Double vision? Hardly. More like double trouble. Two unsolicited mailshots from a company whose representative said:

"I would like to confirm that the following have been closed and or deleted: Both your accounts, goldcard and your on-line account. Once again I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

"... you have been removed from our general mailing lists... "

Looks like that was utter drivel, eh?

I refer the honourable reader to a previous blog entry regarding f***d & t**k (

I wonder what cock-and-bull story I'll get this time.

Looks like I'll be making good use of the link that AktoMan included his comment on this other blog entry: (

  1. LOL - glad to have been of help to someone, BG!

I got annoyed when hearing some person in the media talking about the rubbish people generate at home. I don't generate waste, my shopping comes in containers to get it home. I get some junk mail. None of it is 'generated' by me.

  2. sorry stef (i was sort of wondering if this might happen) did i forget to mention I had one more unsolicited email after they had apparently deleted my details off all their databases. and a subseqent brief email conversation here it all is, nothing since:

I have received your latest catalogue, I also had an email conversation with
Richard Gundle earlier this year concerning emails from Field and Trek, and
at my request he assured me that my email adress had been removed from the
field and trek spamming email list.

so can you please remove all of my details from all of your databases,
because I will never buy anything from you again mail order or online
because your service in my experience is a load of rubbish. I| might
occassionally buy something in the Ambleside store, and that is now the only
store i ever go anywhere near.

    many thanks
    Hamish Fenton
please reply to this email so that I know you have received and acted on

Thanks for that, Hamish. Looks like your opinion of them is similar to mine.

I'm not going to ask them again, as far as I'm concerned they've had their last chance and they used it to lie to me. I'm just going to send all the details to as per Duncan's comment on the other post (thanks for that, Duncan).
